The Wolverines held the Tigers to a mere 1-0 lead more than halfway through the third period. Senior wing Tyler Hegwood scored the ultimate game-winner just 1 minute, 34 seconds into the game. The two third-period goals for Albert Lea were credited to junior wing Tony Dugstad and sophomore defenseman Alex Lair. Ninth-grade goaltender Clay Casanova turned away 28 shots for Albert Lea.
