| The Warroad Warriors, fresh from a difficult 2-1 overtime loss to Orono in the quarterfinals, had no mercy for the Crusaders of St. Cloud Cathedral in this Class A consolation semifinal. Warroad, now unable to defend its title, came from a 1-0 first-period deficit to overtake St. Cloud Cathedral and stay safely ahead. Warroad led 3-1 after one, 7-2 after two, and 10-4 at the final horn. Seniors Andrew Hasbargen and Chris Spracklen each had two goals for Warroad. Joe Harren, Bobby Anacabe, Andy Brandt, T.J. Oshie, Josh Brodeen and Kyle Mohrbacher also added Warrior goals. Goaltender Mark Thiele only faced 12 shots from the Crusaders while his teammates put 42 on the net. |
