| It was a thriller of a finish. The St. Thomas Academy Cadets came back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers, 4-3, and earn its first-ever boys hockey championship title. Down three goals at the start of the third period, the Cadets netted three consecutive goals in 2:04, including the game-winning goal by senior Jack Baer. Baer’s goal was his second game-winning and third overall goal of the tournament. St. Thomas Academy goalie, sophomore Aaron Crandall, made 29 saves on 32 shots on net. Crandall was also credited with an assist on the first Cadet goal scored by ninth-grader Jordan Schroeder. |
