| Jack Paul of Minnetonka knocked in a rebound on a shot by Erik Peterson with 5:29 remaining in the game to give the Skippers a hard fought 3-2 victory over the Wildcats of Eagan. The goal was Paul’s second of the game in leading the Skippers to the Class AA Consolation Championship. Paul’s second score had given Minnetonka their only lead of the game; as the Wildcats had led both 1-0, and 2-1 only to have the Skippers tie the game twice. It was a physical game with 12 penalties called; seven of them on the victorious Skippers. Minnetonka was 1-for-2 on the power play; Eagan was 0-for-3 with nine shots on net when they had the advantage. Eagan also led in total shots for the game; 31-28. |
