Eskomos Looking Forward To Rivalry Game By SID Director
|
The Esko Eskomos are set to face their toughest battle of the season; the Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels are coming to town. These two historic rivals have proved to play the best when they face each other and this year is set to be no different. The Rebels have proven to be a dominant force this season recording two shutouts and holding their opponents to an average of under ten points per game. However, Esko has proved in previous games that they can compete with big time teams such as Holy Family Catholic and the goal this week is all the same. The Eskomos are 4-3 on the season and looking to remain over .500 on the year. The Rebels are on track for another undefeated season but are well aware that the Eskomos will be ready to play when they come to Les Knuti Memorial Field this Wednesday night. Esko finds their leadership in their 11 seniors including star quarterback Max Reinertsen. The Rebels rely heavily on their tremendous run game featuring senior Chris Gassert and talented junior Jake Disterhaup in the backfield. The game is expected to be a great shootout featuring two of the Northlands top offenses. The game will begin at 7 pm under the lights with playoff seeding’s, serious bragging rights, and a whole lot of pride on the line.
