Perham boys win third consecutive team championship

The Perham boys captured their third title with 75 points at the 2019 state meet. This was the Yellowjackets’ eighth team championship overall. In addition to the past three years, they also won in 2006, 2007, 2010, 2012, and 2013. West Central Area of Barrett took runner-up honors for a second consecutive year (83) and St. James Area, which includes students from Butterfield-Odin, was third (154).

Geno Uhrbom of Greenway/Nashwak-Keewatin won his second consecutive individual title in 15:27.6. Emmet Anderson of Staples-Motley was second and Jacob Bright of West Central Area placed second and third, respectively.

In Class AA, the Mounds View boys won their first championship with 86 points. The Mustangs, who placed second in 2018, edged the runners-up from Eden Prairie by one point. St. Paul Highland Park placed was with 135 points.

Oliver Paleen of St. Paul Highland Park, who placed 10th in 2018, captured the individual crown in 15:25.2. Nicholas Scheller of Chanhassen was second and AJ Green of Eastview of Apple Valley placed third.
