Activities Director ExCEL Submission Information

Application Deadline: Friday, December 12, 2025

The ExCEL (Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership) Award honors high school juniors who are active in MSHSL activities, show leadership, and engage in community service. Each school may nominate one girl and one boy. 

As the Activities Director, you are responsible for the following:

  1. Share the Opportunity with Students
    • Inform eligible juniors about the ExCEL Award.
    • Direct interested students to the public ExCEL Award page.
    • Have them review the student nomination directions and download the fillable PDF nomination form.
    • Emphasize that all materials must be submitted to you electronically.
  2. Collect the Following from Each Student
    • Completed Student Nomination Form (fillable PDF)
    • Letter of Recommendation from a school staff member - can be a separate document or completed in the Student Nomination Form.
    • Headshot Photo in JPG format, at 300 dpi or higher.
  3. Select Your School’s Nominees
    • After reviewing all submissions, select one girl and one boy to represent your school.
    • Using the link at the bottom of this page, please submit the complete set of materials for each nominee.
  4. Before Submitting, Verify the Following for Each Nominee:
    • The Student Nomination Form is fully completed (typed only—no handwritten entries)
    • A Letter of Recommendation from a school staff member is included  - can be a separate document or completed in the Student Nomination Form.
    • A high-resolution headshot (JPG, minimum 300 dpi) is attached
    • All fields are filled in, and no additional documents or abbreviations are used
