1974 Volleyball State Tournament Participants Recognized

History was recognized on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Xcel Energy Center when participants from the first Minnesota State High School League Girls Volleyball State Tournament in 1974 were honored during Championship Saturday events. Teams that participated in the inaugural tournament and were recognized were Bloomington Kennedy, Crookston, Moorhead, Redwood Falls, Rochester Mayo, Virginia, Windom and Osseo, the first volleyball team champion.
Also joining the celebration and recognized for their leadership in the advancement of Girls Volleyball were former League Associate Director Dorothy McIntyre and tournament referee Helen Swanson.
The recognition event drew great praise, warmth and appreciation from the League’s member schools and the Minnesota volleyball community.
