Two new all-around champions emerged at the 2024 Girls Gymnastics State Meet. Junior Dakota Esget of North Branch Area won in Class A and senior Jackie Bergeron of St. Michael-Albertville took top honors in Class AA.

Warroad and Dodge County, on the opposite ends of the girls hockey state tournament spectrum in terms of history, have each had storybook seasons.

A four-time state champion making its 14th appearance in state tournament play, Edina (22-6-1) turned in a sterling offensive effort to claim a 5-0 victory over Northfield (27-2-0) in the final quarterfinal round game of the MSHSL Class AA state tournament on Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

A runner-up in last year’s tournament and state champions in 2020 and 2022, Andover enjoyed a perfect day on special teams a 2-of-2 rate on the power play and a 2-of-2 performance on the penalty kill against the Irish.
