Most Valuable Teammate

Zach has tremendous leadership skills which are seen on the court, in the weight room and in the community. He is able to hold people accountable yet keeps everyone loose. His positive attitude and effort is very important to the success of a young team. Zach volunteers to help coach his little brother’s basketball and football teams and is a well-suited role model for young boys.

Sydney shows tremendous team leadership. She always helps others, shows teammates how to properly execute moves and is quick to help problem solve. She has spent extra time outside of practice helping to choreograph new material. On top of that she has a very positive attitude and always gives her team pep talks to keep them motivated and uplifted. 

Kaden is a spark off the bench for the team. He does everything you ask him to do on the court and in practice. He is a great team player. He is a monster on the boards and hustles the whole time he is in the game. His energy is contagious. 

Emanuel holds many leadership roles in school, and what he does for others makes him exceptional. This fall, with an afternoon free from football practice, he cheered on the seventh-grade football team. Recently, he drove an hour on a Saturday to watch five hours of seventh- and eighth-grade basketball, sitting on the bench with the teams. He is an extraordinary teammate and leader.  

Rachel is the epitome of “The Little Engine That Could.” Since the moment she joined the team, she has not let anything get in her way. In moments where many would give up, Rachel digs deeper. She also has a natural ability to motivate her teammates.  There is never an ounce of negativity. She takes each opportunity to lead her team and turn each moment into a positive one. 

Zach demonstrates selflessness every day as a member of the basketball team. He puts his team and teammates first by celebrating their successes, providing positive feedback and always being willing to help where needed. He consistently asks teammates and coaches how their day is going and if there is anything he can do to help. Zach makes his team better before he ever steps on the court.

Faith is a huge supporter for all those around her. She’s always positive and constantly builds up her teammates. She is a huge cheerleader for the younger girls in our programs and constantly takes them under her wing. She is the first to raise her hand to do anything for anyone, including many community organizations. She is all about what is best for the team and not herself. 

Zack has stepped up to be a huge leader for his team after battling through multiple injuries in his junior football and wrestling seasons to come back stronger and more determined. He not only leads on the field but also is a great teammate. He encourages others to be their best, cheers on his peers at other events and works hard in the classroom. 

Ella is an exceptional leader and role model who leads by example, consistently challenges herself and her team, and always brings a positive attitude to practice and competitions. No matter the circumstance, Ella shows up ready to work hard, with a smile on her face. The Blaine dance program is grateful for Ella, who embodies the team culture of superior character, dedicated passion and commitment to athletic excellence.
