One last championship was earned on Saturday, March 26, 2022, a title that ended a marathon of Minnesota State High School League winter state tournament events. And that title, the third of the day, went to a member school that had never won a crown in boys basketball.

A week ago, the Totino-Grace Girls Basketball team won the Class AAA girls championship for the second time since 2008. The ink has barely dried from updating that achievement in the record book and it will need to be summoned again. Boys Basketball State Tournament Day 1 Recap

Boys Basketball, the final activity in a long run of Minnesota State High School League winter state tournament events, began a five-day run on Tuesday, March 22 at Target Center and Williams Arena. Between the two Minneapolis venues, three of the four enrollment classes completed their quarterfinals and semifinals are set. Quarterfinals still remain to be played in Class A and that will commence on Wednesday, March 23 at Williams Arena.
