Baseball State Tournament: Day 2 Semifinal Pairings

A full day and evening of action in the Minnesota State High School League's Baseball State Tournament saw 16 teams over four enrollment classes advance to the semifinals that are scheduled for Wednesday, June 14.
A 32-team field vying for championships in four enrollment classes was trimmed in half to a “Sweet Sixteen” following Day 1 of the three-day Minnesota State High School Baseball State Tournament. Day 2 of the state tournament will feature two semifinal games in each class with the winners advancing to the Prep Championship Series scheduled for Friday, June 16 at CHS Field in St. Paul.
Here is a look at the semifinal pairings:
Class A, at Joe Faber Field
- No. 2 New Ulm Cathedral (20-8) vs. No. 3 Lyle/Pacelli (23-1), 11 a.m.
- Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (14-11) vs. No. 5 Fosston (22-4), 1:30 p.m.
Class AA, at Dick Putz Field
- No. 2 Fairmont (23-2) vs. Perham (23-3), 11 a.m.
- No. 1 Esko (25-1) vs. No. 5 Cannon Falls (19-5), 1:30 p.m.
Class AAA, at Mini Met
- Grand Rapids (17-10) vs. No. 3 Mahtomedi (18-6), noon
- No. 1 New Prague (21-3) vs. No. 4 Monticello (20-3), 2:30 p.m.
Class AAAA, at CHS Field
- No. 2 East Ridge (18-8) vs. No. 3 Minnetonka (18-7), noon
- No. 1 Rosemount (17-6) vs. No. 4 Edina (19-8), 2:30 p.m.
