2024 Girls Gymnastics State Meet: Individual Recap

Two new all-around champions emerged at the 2024 Girls Gymnastics State Meet. Junior Dakota Esget of North Branch Area won in Class A and senior Jackie Bergeron of St. Michael-Albertville took top honors in Class AA.

Esget also won her second consecutive title on the uneven bars, while Bergeron captured first place on the vault, beam and floor exercise.

Class A

Dakota Esget of North Branch Area won her first Class A all-around title with a four-event combined score of 37.5750. She also captured her second consecutive title on the uneven bars with a final tally of 9.4875. Esget placed third in the all around in 2023.

Senior Hali Bullerman of Worthington claimed runner-up honors in the all-around with a score of 37.2375. Sophomore Lauren Hansen of Monticello placed third at 37.0875.  Bullerman also claimed the top spot in the floor exercise with a score of 9.6250.

Senior Avery McAllister of Perham/New York Mills won the vault (9.8125) and senior Lauren Woelfel of Becker finished first on the balance beam (9.4625).

Class AA

St. Michael-Albertville senior Jackie Bergeron turned in a stellar performance in Class AA. She won three events and earned her first crown in the all-around with a score of 38.3375. She also had the top scores on the vault (9.800), balance beam (9.6250) and floor exercise (9.700).

The win was an improvement on Bergeron’s runner-up showing in 2023.

Forest Lake senior Anna Philipson placed second in the all-around at 38.1375 and Cretin-Derham Hall junior Delaney Cunnington was third with a score of 37.8875. Cunnington also placed first on the bars with a score of 9.7375.
