Boys Basketball State Tournament 2024: Class AA consolation semifinals

The second round of play in the Class AA field were two consolation semifinals at the Gangelhoff Center on the Concordia (St. Paul) campus.

  • Pequot Lakes 51, Waseca 48: Senior guard Brayden Spiczka made two free throws with 11 seconds remaining in regulation and junior forward Harrison Kennen added another for good measure with two seconds left to send Pequot Lakes (27-5) to a narrow victory over Waseca (20-12). Kennen paced the Patriots with 13 points and senior guard Clay Erickson chipped in 12. Sophomore guard Deron Russell scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Bluejays.
  • Jackson County Central 74, Pelican Rapids 65: Jackson County Central (22-8) ended a marathon session of six games in the consolation round with a nine-point victory over Pelican Rapids (24-7). Sophomore Roman Voss scored 22 points to help the Huskies bounce back after a quarterfinal loss. Sophomore Weston Rowe produced 20 points and seven rebounds. Senior guard Timmy Guler had 18 points for Pelican Rapids.
