Boys Lacrosse Semifinal - Prior Lake 10, Lakeville North 9 (OT)

Unseeded Lakeville North scored two unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to push No. 3 Prior Lake to overtime. Sophomore attacker Austin Winship scored at 7:52 to pull the Panthers within 9-8 and senior midfielder Jake Weckman tied the score just 22 seconds later.

Senior attacker Jack Smith, with an assist from junior attacker Cooper Busch, netted the game-winner for Prior Lake at 1:57 in overtime.

Sophomore midfielder Ben Mickett led the Lakers with three goals. Junior attacker Justin Simonson and junior midfielder Dalton Spratt added two goals apiece for Prior Lake. Junior goalie Ryan Vitters made seven saves for the Lakers.

Weckman finished the game with three goals and Winship had two. Tyler Winship, a senior attacker, also tallied two goals for the Panthers.

This was the second time these two teams met this season. Prior Lake won the first match-up 9-6.

The Lakers now advance to the championship game and will face either No. 4 Stillwater Area or top-seeded Benilde-St. Margaret’s.
