In the Class AA team competition, Eden Prairie improved on last year’s runner-up showing and sent the four-time defending champions from Edina to a second-place finish. Eden Prairie finished with 263.5 points to Edina’s 219 this year. Prior Lake was third with a score of 194.

This was Eden Prairie’s seventh team championship, but first since 2016. The Eagles also won in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2012 and 2013.

Eden Prairie won one two individual events and all three relays on its way to the championship. Senior Luke Logue earned his third consecutive crown in the 100 backstroke (47.74) and also claimed top honors in the 200 individual medley (1:49.28). Logue was joined by junior Brian Shi, sophomore Drew Ploof and senior Matthew Lillejord on the winning 200 medley team (1:32.19). Senior Eric Howard, Shi, Lillejord and Ploof comprised the 200 freestyle team (1:24.33).

The Eagles claimed their final points in the 400 freestyle relay, winning in 3:06.86. Howard, Lillejord, senior Charlie Folks and Logue were the members of that squad.

Lucas Gerten, a sophomore from Rosemount, was the only other individual to successfully defend his 2022 title. Gerten earned his second consecutive championship in one meter diving with 480.60 points.

In addition to Logue, freshman Micah Davis of St. Cloud Tech/Cathedral/Rocori/Becker was the only other competitor to win multiple titles this year. He won both the 200 freestyle (1:37.68) and 100 butterfly (48.41).
