Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville wins 2022 Adapted Softball CI State Title

Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville completed its three-game season-ending surge with an 11-1 victory over New Prague in the CI Division championship game of the Minnesota State High School League’s Adapted Softball State Tournament on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Chanhassen High School. The Blazing Cats (11-0), the only undefeated team in the CI Division field defeated three opponents by a combined score of 41-6 en route to winning its second championship since 2019 and third overall.

Sophomore outfielder Clarke Ruhland capped the offensive surge with a home run in the bottom of the fifth inning which secured, by rule, the 10-run victory. Sophomore outfielder Caden Roseth homered earlier in the game and sophomore second baseman Riley Deutsch had two doubles. It was Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville’s third victory over New Prague in three meetings this season.

Senior shortstop Evan Minar, junior first baseman Aaron Adamson and freshman second baseman Elliott Soukup had two hits each for the Trojans.

In the third place game, junior outfielder Thomas Christopherson was 3 for 3 with two runs scored to help propel Dakota United to a 10-9 victory over Chaska/Chanhassen/Prior Lake/Shakopee. Sophomore pitcher Mark Manwarren also had three hits.

North Suburban ended the season with a 15-2 victory over South Washington County in the consolation final. Freshman second baseman TJ Lichtenberg scored three runs for the Cougars.
