Class AA Boys

In the opening session of Class AA track, the Rosemount boys captured their second team title with a score of 55. Hopkins came in second at 49 and Farmington was third at 34.

The Rosemount Irish captured their first team championship in 2008.

Blake Eaton, a junior from Duluth Denfeld, was the only competitor to defend his 2019 titles. He repeated in both the 100 meter wheelchair (22.04) and the 200 meter wheelchair (38.17). Waseca senior Marcus Hansen was the only other competitor to win two events. He captured gold in the shot put (63-2.25) and the discus (178-8).

The Farmington Tigers tallied two relay wins this year. The team of junior Ben Buesgens, senior Erick Moreno and juniors Abdisa Ayana and Rodrick Finley won the 4x200 with a time of 1:28.14. In the 4x400, the foursome of seniors Jack Savasten and Moreno and juniors Ayana and Ramy Ayoub claimed the top spot with a time of 1:28.14.

No Class AA or all-time records were set in the boys Class AA meet this year.

Class AA Girls

There were no repeat champions from 2019 in the girls Class AA event, but two competitors went home with multiple titles.

Edina junior Maddie Dahlien may have been the talk of the meet. She won the 100 meter dash (11.99), the 200 meter dash (24.45) and the 400 meter dash (55.48). Rosemount junior Ava Cinnamo claimed the gold in the 100 meter hurdles (14.49) and the 300 meter hurdles (44.01).

In the team event, Rosemount earned its third team championship with a score of 86. St. Michael-Albertville was second at 65, and Edina and Minnetonka tied for third-place honors with a total of 56.

The Irish won previously in 1984 and 2019.

No Class AA or all-time records were set this year.
