The Edina Hornets look strong heading into the Class AA swimming finals. The Hornets posted the fastest time in five events, including all three relays. They had a 1:33.00 in the 200 medley relay, a 1:24.76 in the 200 freestyle relay and a 3:06.36 in the 400 freestyle relay.

Edina seniors Matthew Walker and Kai Taft posted the best preliminary times in the 200 freestyle (1:40.57) and 200 individual medley (1:49.89), respectively.

Luke Logue, a junior from Eden Prairie, is the only entrant looking to build on a 2021 gold-medal finish. He won the 100 backstroke last year and has this year’s best preliminary time of 49.98.

Anoka senior Nathan Anderson was the only individual to have the fastest preliminary time in two races. He set the pace in both the 50 freestyle (21.00) and the 100 freestyle (45.39).

The Class AA swimming and diving finals will be held at noon on Saturday, March 5.
