Lacrosse State Tournament 2025: An overview of the 16 qualifying teams

The Minnesota State High School League's Lacrosse State Tournament takes place this Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at Eden Prairie High School and Chaska High School.
All games will be streamed live on NSPN.tv.
Here's a look at the schedule and the eight qualifiers in both the Girls and Boys brackets.
Girls Lacrosse State Tournament
Quarterfinals — Tuesday, June 10 at Chaska High School
No. 6 Maple Grove (13-3) vs. No. 3 Stillwater Area (13-2), 11 a.m. — Maple Grove returns for the first time since 2021 with its seventh all-time tournament bid. Stillwater Area’s 13 appearances are the most of any program in this year’s field. The Ponies took fourth place the last two years.
No. 7 Elk River/Zimmerman (12-4) vs. No. 2 Park (16-0), 1 p.m. — Elk River/Zimmerman was the fourth seed in its section and upset No. 1 Buffalo 14-12 in the semifinals. The Elks are making their fourth consecutive appearance after finishing sixth last year. Unbeaten Park reached its first state tournament with a double-overtime win over Cretin-Derham Hall.
No. 5 Lakeville South (13-3) vs. No. 4 Orono (14-2), 3 p.m. — Defending champion Lakeville South is here for the fifth consecutive year and is aiming for its fifth straight trip to the semifinals. Charlotte Fannin leads the state with 122 points. Orono won its first section title with a 15-11 victory over Minnetonka.
No. 8 Chisago Lakes (14-2) vs. No. 1 Prior Lake (16-0), 5 p.m. — Chisago Lakes is making its state tournament debut. Both of its losses were by one goal. Prior Lake hasn’t lost since last year’s championship game. Midfielders Lauren Jonas and Keeley Mohling and defender Lauren Jonas were all on the 2024 All-Tournament Team.

Boys Lacrosse State Tournament
Quarterfinals — Tuesday, June 10 at Eden Prairie High School
No. 6 East Ridge (12-4) vs. No. 3 Benilde-St. Margaret’s (13-3), 11 a.m. — East Ridge toppled Section 3A No. 1 seed St. Thomas Academy 11-5 for its state tournament breakthrough. Benilde-St. Margaret’s qualified for the eighth consecutive tournament with three championships in that span and a state-best six all-time, including last year.
No. 7 Moorhead (13-3) vs. No. 2 Stillwater Area (16-0), 1 p.m. — Moorhead is back for the fifth year in a row. Stillwater’s unbeaten season has included three wins over state tournament qualifiers.
No. 5 Lakeville North (12-4) vs. No. 4 Minnetonka (13-3), 3 p.m. — Lakeville North was the runner-up in 2024 after winning it all in 2023. Carson Piscitiello is the state’s assists leader (45). Minnetonka senior Gabe Miller leads the state with 74 goals and 110 points.
No. 8 Blaine (10-6) vs. No. 1 Edina (15-1), 5 p.m. — Blaine is back at state for the first time since its debut 10 years ago. Edina’s only previous appearance was in 2012. The Hornets’ only loss is to Lakeville North, but they have four wins over other qualifiers, including 18-4 in the season opener against Blaine.
