Top-seeded Chanhassen rallied to tie the title game at 7-7 in the second half, but that wasn’t enough to top No. 2 Lakeville South. The Cougars, buoyed by two late goals from sophomore Sivanna O’Brien, scored three times in the final eight minutes and defeated the Storm 10-7.

This is the first championship for Lakeville South, which placed second in 2021. The Cougars’ victory also avenged a regular-season 10-9 loss to Chanhassen.

Lakeville South junior Emily Moes led all scorers with three goals. O’Brien and senior Brielle Fannin added two goals apiece for the Cougars. Senior Siri Hodgins and junior Allie Welder both struck twice for Chanhassen and senior Leah Hodgins had a team-high four assists.

In the third-place game, No. 4 Benilde-St. Margaret’s moved past No. 3 Rosemount with an 8-7 victory. Sophomore Maggie Grazcyk tallied three goals for the Red Knights and senior Mary Zavoral and sophomore Julia Evens added two apiece. Senior Sayla Lotysz led Rosemount with two goals.

Stillwater Area defeated Elk River/Zimmerman 7-6 in the consolation final. Sophomore Maycie Neubauer and senior Grace Bancroft provided the majority of the Ponies’ offense. They netted three goals apiece. Junior Tori Liljegren added one goal and two assists for Stillwater Area. Junior Isabella Dols struck three times for Elk River/Zimmerman.
