Robotics 2025: Irondale, Becker and Pequot Lakes form championship alliance

The teams from Irondale, Becker and Pequot Lakes formed the three-team championship alliance at the 2025 Robotics State Tournament. That alliance defeated the teams from Rochester, New London-Spicer and Sauk Centre 241-221 in a tie-breaker.
This was the second consecutive and fourth overall title for Becker. In addition to last year, the Becker Coalition of Independent Students (CIS) also won in 2013 and 2022. Irondale, which also claimed its fourth title, was part of last year’s runner-up alliance with New London-Spicer and Greenbush-Middle River. The Irondale KnightKrawler claimed their first championship in 2013 and won again in 2014 and 2016.
This was the first championship for the Pequot Lakes Patriotics.
The alliance of St. Michael-Albertville, Great River School/Avalon School and Rocori claimed third place honors this year.
This year’s competition was REEFSCAPESM presented by Haas. In the event, competing alliances were invited to score coral, harvest algae and attach to the barge before time ran out. Alliances earned additional rewards for meeting specific scoring thresholds and cooperating with their opponents.
