More than 100 section-level recipients of Spotlight on the Arts recognition will be honored on Saturday, May 11, when the Minnesota State High School League hosts the Visual Arts State Festival at the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley.

The exhibition highlights Spotlight on the Arts recipients from throughout Minnesota and provides the artists an opportunity to display their work, discuss their artistic process and celebrate the achievements of others.

“It has been another amazing spring for students that participated in Visual Arts,” said League Staff member Tim Leighton, who oversees Visual Arts. “There is so much excitement from the member schools, students, advisors and the community as we gather to celebrate the incredible talents and gifts of these students.”

The event is free and open to the public. Students will be recognized during an awards ceremony at 2 p.m.

Here is a schedule for the State Festival:

  • 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Registration and installation of Spotlight on the Arts award-winning Works
  • 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. --- Viewing of Works
  • 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. --- Awards Ceremony
