Jimmy Abdo, a graduate of Edina High School, recently made it to the quarterfinals of the United States Golf Association (USGA) 125th U.S. Amateur Championship.
Matt Wilkinson, a graduate of Minnetonka High School, recently qualified for the Olympics in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Wilkinson started running the steeplechase at Carleton College and won two NCAA titles with the Knights. He also competed for the University of Minnesota.
After 51 years in journalism and a length list of sweet memories, retirement beckons for Minnesota State High School League Media Specialist John Millea.
School staff and community members began posting photos and videos on social media, and it was really something to see. The message was simple: “We’re still here, we will return to normal, and we are thinking about our kids, teams and communities.”
