Boys Lacrosse 2025: Edina earns first championship after defeating Stillwater Area

Top-seeded Edina (18-1) won its first championship after defeating No. 2 Stillwater Area 9-7 in the title game of the Boys Lacrosse State Tournament. Senior Cooper Anderson powered the Hornets’ offense with three goals, including the insurance goal with 35 seconds left in regulation. Three players added two goals apiece for Edina: senior Eli Busse, junior Michael Sieve and junior Luke Seaman.

Senior Anderson Wagner, senior Luke Geisbauer and junior Robert Appert IV scored two goals each for Stillwater Area (18-1).

Edina and Stillwater Area did not meet during the regular season.

Lakeville North (14-5), the No. 5 seed, defeated No. 6 East Ridge 18-5 in the third-place game. Senior Blake Piscitiello had seven goals and two assists for the Panthers. Sophomore Colton Smith added five goals. Junior Kaden Baron and senior Mac O’Brien tallied two goals apiece for East Ridge (13-6). 

No. 7 Moorhead (15-4) dismissed No. 4 Minnetonka 8-7 in overtime in the consolation final. Senior Carter Midthune scored three goals and added one assist for the Spuds. Sophomore Rylan Overbo netted the game-winner. Senior Gabe Miller was the top scorer for Minnetonka (14-5); he finished the game with four goals.
