Class A Swimming and Diving Final Results

Visitation won its 12th title with 385 points. The Blazers claimed four consecutive championships between 2005-2008 and seven between 2013-2019. Hutchinson placed second with 254 points and Delano was third at 189.

Visitation won two events on its way to the championship. Junior Anna Farley won the 200 individual medley in 2:04.39. In the 500 freestyle, the Blazers swept the top three places. Junior Ella Passe won in 4:59.37, followed by junior Elizabeth Burke (5:05.15) and sophomore Tessa Lindstrom (5:08.78).

Two competitors won two titles apiece. Emma Kern, a junior from Delano, won the 100 backstroke (53.77) and 100 butterfly (54.80). Kern won the 100 backstroke in 2019 and also set the Class A record of 53.40 in the same event in this year’s preliminaries.

Kern also competed on the Delano 200 freestyle relay team that earned top honors with a time of 1:35.01. Sophomore Hannah Wadholm, freshman Josie Stroble and eighth-grader Kaia Georges rounded out that team.

Hutchinson senior Grace Hanson won her fourth crown in the 50 freestyle with a Class A record-setting time of 22.57. Hanson’s second victory came in the 100 freestyle with a Class A record-setting time of 49.56. She also won that event in 2019.  

The Hutchinson Tigers also won two relays at this year’s meet. They won the 200 medley (1:45.86) with a team of comprised seniors Kasidy Brecht and Hailey Farrell, junior Madison Witte and sophomore Madilyn Gehrke. Hutchinson earned its fifth crown in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:30.74. That squad was made up of Hanson, Brecht, Farrell and senior Jaiden Mezera.
