Dance Team State Tournament: Jazz Recap

St. Cloud Cathedral (Class A) was the only school to successfully defend its 2023 title in the Jazz Division. This marked the third consecutive title for the Crusaderettes. Benilde-St. Margaret’s won in Class AA and Wayzata emerged as the champion in Class AAA.

St. Cloud Cathedral earned its third consecutive Jazz title and fourth overall. The Crusaderettes won their first jazz championship in 2010. Yellow Medicine East placed second and Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd was third.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s improved on last year’s runner-up showing to win its 11th Jazz crown. The Knightettes won previously in 1999, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2023. Orono placed second and Mound Westonka followed in third. Orono claimed top honors in 2023.

Wayzata claimed its ninth title, but first since 2019. The Wayzata Dance Team, which placed second in 2023, won their previous championships in 1993, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2018 and 2019. The defending champions from Maple Grove placed second this year and Eastview took third.
