Eastview defends 2021 Jazz title

Eastview (Class AAA) was the only school to successfully defend its 2021 title in the Jazz Division. This marked the third consecutive title for the Lightning. St. Cloud Cathedral won in Class A and Benilde-St. Margaret’s emerged as the champion in Class AA.

St. Cloud Cathedral earned its second Jazz title, but first since 2010. The three-time defending champions from Lac qui Parle/Dawson-Boyd were second and Yellow Medicine East placed third.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s improved on last year’s runner-up showing to win its 10th Jazz crown. The Knightettes won previously in 1999, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. Orono placed second and Totino-Grace followed in third.

Eastview claimed its third consecutive title and seventh overall. In addition to the past three years, the Lightning also won in 2000, 2014, 2016, and 2017. Maple Grove placed second this year and Wayzata took third.
