Girls Lacrosse 2025: Prior Lake completes perfect season with title victory over Stillwater Area

Top-seeded Prior Lake (19-0) completed a perfect season to claim its third championship with a 13-8 victory over No. 3 Stillwater Area (15-3) in the Girls Lacrosse State Tournament. The Lakers, who placed second in 2024, won previous titles in 2019 and 2021.

This was second time these teams met this season. Prior Lake defeated Stillwater Area 11-6 in the season-opener for both teams

Senior Abigail Grove led Prior Lake with five goals and two assists. Senior Talia Baldzicki added four goals for the Lakers. Three players tallied two goals apiece for Stillwater Area: seniors Gretchen Wenner and Madylyn Richert, and junior Nola Johnson. 

In the third-place game, No. 2 Park (18-1) moved past the defending champions from Lakeville South (14-5) with a 15-5 victory. Senior Josephine Leonard led Park with six points points on three goals and three assists. Senior Madison Brinkman added four goals for the Wolfpack. Lakeville South senior Ella Mills scored two goals and had one assist. The Cougars came into the tournament as the No. seed.

No. 6 Maple Grove (15-4) defeated No. 4 Orono (15-4) 9-7 in the consolation final. Senior Sosi Van Wyk and junior Ryley Dunn provided the majority of the Crimson’s offense. Both struck for three goals and one assist. Senior Hadley Kudla added one goal and one assist for Maple Grove. Junior Dylan Collins netted three goals and added two assists for Orono.
